Kimin is the Co-Founder and CEO of Gunung Capital. He has leveraged his global and regional business connections, visionary business acumen and deep operational expertise to launch many game-changing companies. Kimin’s record in deep value creation demonstrates his proven ability to transform fledging companies into regional powerhouses.

Kimin believes industrial progress and environmental stewardship can and must go hand in hand. As Executive Chairman of PT Gunung Raja Paksi Tbk (GRP), Kimin is responsible for boldly transforming the company from a family-owned, local steel manufacturer to a regional pioneer in low-carbon steel production and responsible manufacturing. Under his strategic leadership, GRP secured the International Finance Corporation’s first investment in Asian steel in over a decade to scale GRP’s expansion into one of the pioneering low-carbon steel manufacturers in Asia.

Kimin’s courage to push industry standards is why GRP is trusted by steel players around the world. Kimin recently led GRP’s successful carve out of its structural steel business to Japan’s Yamato Kogyo, Hanwa and Thailand’s Siam Yamato Steel, positioning the company for even greater market competitiveness and maximizing returns to shareholders.

Kimin is dedicated to enhancing the Indonesian steel industry’s global competitiveness and has served as the former Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Iron and Steel Association. He completed his Bachelor of Industrial Management from Cornell University. He is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, Hokkien and Bahasa Indonesia.
