Kelvin Fu is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Gunung Capital. His responsibilities include deal sourcing, structuring, analysis, and portfolio management across the company’s investments in infrastructure-related industries, building materials, commodities, sustainability, and impact-linked projects especially in the decarbonization and carbon credit industries.
Kelvin was instrumental in charting and implementing the change management at various portfolio companies which involved the transformation of business goals, processes, and technologies. This has resulted in a significant turnaround at the businesses from a loss-making to record profits. In particular, he was instrumental in the change management at Gunung Raja Paksi, Indonesia’s largest privately owned steel company.
Kelvin is also the Co-Founder of a private equity real estate investment and development firm focused on multifamily, student housing, retail office and mixed-used properties in the US Mid-Atlantic region. He has worked on numerous deals spanning numerous sectors, including consumer related sectors, energy, and healthcare in different geographic regions such as North Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
Kelvin is a graduate of the National University of Singapore (Bachelor of Social Science in Political Science), Macquarie University (Master of Applied Finance) and the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School (M.B.A.). He has published a case study from Stanford University, “Strengthening Electricity Distribution in Uganda: The Role of Private Equity.”
Kelvin is an active participant in the Asia Investor Group for Climate Change, Family Business Network in Asia, and the Taskforce for Voluntary Carbon Markets. Kelvin is a member of the Milken Institute Young Leaders Circle and Young President’s Organization.
